Production Description:

LENO Diaphragm Pump‌

LENO diaphragm pump is a positive displacement pump that transports liquids by reciprocating deformation of a diaphragm to change the chamber volume. It belongs to the category of actuators and is primarily used in industries such as chemical, ceramic, and wastewater treatment. Its core structure consists of a transmission unit and a diaphragm chamber head, utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric drive to achieve suction and discharge of the medium. The working fluid is completely isolated from the transmission components, and diaphragms are typically made of corrosion-resistant materials such as fluororubber and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

‌Main Types and Features‌:

‌Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump‌: Powered by compressed air, it has a self-priming capability of up to 7 meters and can handle liquids containing particles up to 10 mm in diameter. It operates at temperatures up to 150°C and is suitable for flammable, highly toxic, and high-temperature media. It automatically shuts down when dry-running or clogged.

‌Electric Diaphragm Pump‌: Can achieve a head of up to 30 meters, does not require priming, and has strong self-priming ability. The working medium is completely separated from the transmission mechanism, ensuring no leakage.

‌Diaphragm Metering Pump‌: Uses a specially designed flexible diaphragm instead of a piston, driven by a mechanical mechanism to perform reciprocating motion, completing the suction and discharge process. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and textile.

‌Working Principle‌

The pneumatic diaphragm pump operates by alternately compressing the diaphragms on both sides with high-pressure air, converting the potential energy of the gas into the kinetic energy of the diaphragm's reciprocating motion. A central connecting rod synchronizes the diaphragms' opposite movements. When one diaphragm is pressurized to discharge the medium, its corresponding one-way valve opens to expel the fluid, while the other diaphragm is pulled back, creating a vacuum to draw in the medium. The air distribution mechanism automatically switches the air pressure direction at the end of the stroke, driving the diaphragm to move in the opposite direction, ensuring continuous suction and discharge of the medium.

‌Applications‌

Diaphragm pumps are widely used in industries such as painting, ceramic glaze transfer, environmental protection, wastewater treatment, construction, sewage discharge, and fine chemicals, where they hold an irreplaceable position compared to other pump types.

1.What is a diaphragm pump?‌

A diaphragm pump is a positive displacement pump that transports liquids by using a flexible diaphragm to change the chamber volume. It is widely used in industries such as chemical, ceramic, and wastewater treatment due to its ability to handle corrosive, viscous, or abrasive fluids without leakage.‌

‌2. What are the main types of diaphragm pumps?‌

‌Pneumatic Diaphragm Pumps (AODD)‌: Operated by compressed air, suitable for hazardous and explosive environments.‌

‌Electric Diaphragm Pumps‌: Driven by an electric motor, offering precise flow control and higher efficiency.‌

‌Mechanical Diaphragm Pumps‌: Used for metering applications, often in chemical dosing.‌

‌3. What are the advantages of diaphragm pumps?‌

‌Leak-proof design‌: No shaft seals, preventing fluid leakage.‌

‌Self-priming capability‌: Can handle dry runs and high-viscosity fluids.‌

‌Corrosion resistance‌: Diaphragms made of PTFE, neoprene, or FPM for chemical compatibility.‌

‌Handles solids‌: Can pump fluids with particles up to 10 mm in diameter.‌

‌4. What are common applications?‌

‌Chemical & Petrochemical‌: Acid, alkali, and solvent transfer.‌

‌Wastewater & Sludge‌: Handling abrasive and high-solids fluids.‌

‌Food & Pharmaceutical‌: Hygienic fluid transfer (FDA-compliant materials).‌

‌Mining & Construction‌: Mud, slurry, and abrasive material pumping.‌

‌5. How to maintain a diaphragm pump?‌

‌Regular inspection‌: Check diaphragms for wear or cracks.‌

‌Lubrication‌: Ensure proper lubrication of moving parts (if applicable).‌

‌Avoid dry running‌: Prolonged dry operation can damage diaphragms.‌

‌Clean filters & valves‌: Prevent clogging and ensure smooth operation.‌

‌6. What are common faults and solutions?‌

‌Diaphragm rupture‌: Replace with compatible material (PTFE for corrosive fluids).‌

‌Low flow rate‌: Check for clogged valves or air supply issues (for pneumatic pumps).‌

‌Excessive vibration‌: Ensure proper alignment and check for loose components.‌

‌7. How to choose the right diaphragm pump?

‌Material compatibility‌: Select diaphragms and wetted parts based on fluid properties.‌

‌Flow  and pressure requirements‌: Match pump specifications to system needs.‌

‌Power source‌: Pneumatic for hazardous areas, electric for precise control.‌
