When using stainless steel storage tanks, several precautions should be taken to ensure safety and proper operation:

1. **Fire Safety**: Install and maintain firebreaks in compliance with regulations.

2. **Tank Integrity**: Ensure the light holes, gauge hole covers, and gaskets on the tank's top are intact and tightly closed. Use spark-proof metal gaskets for the oil gauge.

3. **Flame Arresters**: Install flame arresters at the bases of breathing and hydraulic safety valves. Inspect them quarterly. Avoid installing non-explosion-proof electrical equipment or high-voltage overhead lines in the tank area.

4. **Drainage System**: Equip the tank area with a water containment well. Install valves on the drain pipe outside the firebreak. Monitor tank draining operations and promptly remove residual oil from the containment well. Keep the tank top free of oil stains and water accumulation.
