### Maintenance of Vertical Mills
To ensure efficient operation and longevity of vertical mills, follow these maintenance steps:
1. **Inspection and Lubrication:**
- Check pipes and joints for looseness and ensure flexibility.
- Lubricate bearings with oil, maintaining the oil level at the center of the mark. Replace or replenish oil as needed.
2. **Water Injection:**
- Unscrew the water inlet plug and inject water or slurry as required.
3. **Shutdown Procedure:**
- Before stopping the mill, close the gate valve and pressure gauge, then turn off the motor.
4. **Regular Maintenance:**
- Replace lubricating oil every 100 hours during the first month of operation, then every 500 hours thereafter.
- Adjust the packing gland to maintain proper dripping in the packing chamber.
- Inspect the shaft sleeve for wear and replace if necessary.
5. **Winter Care:**
- Drain the medium after stopping in cold weather to prevent freezing and cracking.
6. **Long-Term Storage:**
- Disassemble the pump, wipe off moisture, grease rotating parts, and store properly.
7. **Operational Checks:**
- Ensure the motor rotates in the correct direction.
- Open the outlet pressure gauge and inlet vacuum pump when the mill runs normally, then gradually open the gate valve while monitoring motor load.
8. **Efficiency and Safety:**
- Operate within the flow rate and head range specified on the nameplate for optimal efficiency.
- Monitor bearing temperature, ensuring it does not exceed 35°C above ambient or 80°C maximum.
- Stop the machine immediately if abnormal sounds are detected.
Proper maintenance ensures the vertical mill operates efficiently and remains in good condition for extended use.
