**Installation, Use, and Maintenance of Jacketed Kettles**
### **1. Installation Instructions**
- **Secure the Support Frame:** Tighten the two set screws on the support frame. Ensure the water inlet and outlet pipes do not rotate with the kettle during installation.
- **Idle Test Run:** Perform a test run on the stirring jacketed kettle to ensure all transmission components operate smoothly before production.
- **Check for Leaks:** If air leakage occurs at the joints, tighten the nuts until the leakage stops.
### **2. Operating Instructions**
- **Steam Pressure:** Do not exceed the rated operating pressure for extended periods.
- **Admitting Steam:** Open the steam inlet valve slowly until the required pressure is reached. If equipped with a steam trap, keep the condensate outlet shutoff valve open. Otherwise, open the valve until steam escapes, then close it slightly to allow a small amount of steam to escape.
- **Safety Valve Adjustment:** Adjust the safety valve based on the desired steam pressure.
- **Monitoring:** Continuously monitor steam pressure during operation and adjust as needed using the steam inlet valve.
- **Draining Water:** After stopping the air intake, open the stopcock at the bottom of the kettle to drain any remaining water.
- **Lubrication:** For tilting and stirring jacketed kettles, add oil to all rotating parts before each shift. Use cooking oil for components inside the kettle and 30#-40# machine oil for other parts.
### **3. Maintenance Instructions**
- **Repair Leaks:** If steam inlet or water outlet pipe joints leak and tightening the nuts does not resolve the issue, add or replace the packing.
- **Inspect Pressure Gauge and Safety Valve:** Regularly check and replace or repair faulty components promptly.
- **Gearbox Maintenance:**
- After the first 50 hours of use, remove the gearbox, drain the lubricating oil, and clean it with kerosene or diesel. Refill with 30#-40# clean engine oil.
- After 150 hours, change the oil again. Subsequently, change the oil every 1000 hours or as needed.
- **Rust Prevention:** Reapply anti-rust oil if the original coating peels off. For the exterior, use X55-3 aluminum powder vinyl water-resistant paint.
- **Hydrostatic Testing:** After 5 years of use, conduct a safety hydrostatic test. The test pressure, Pwater, is:
- Pwater = 0.15 MPa if the rated operating air pressure (Prated) is less than 0.6 MPa.
- Pwater = Prated + 0.3 MPa if Prated is between 0.6 and 0.8 MPa.
- **Replace Worn Components:** If the outer pot body thins to less than 2 mm due to rust, remove it from service.
- **Welding:** Use stainless steel welding rods (e.g., A102, A107, A132, or A137) for welding stainless steel components and joints.
By following these steps, the jacketed kettle can be installed, operated, and maintained effectively, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
