### Safety Precautions for Using a High-Pressure Reactor

When operating a high-pressure reactor, adhere to the following safety guidelines:

1. **Operate in Designated Areas**: Use the reactor only in specified locations and follow the provided instructions.

2. **Monitor Pressure and Temperature**:

- Operate within the engraved test pressure, operating pressure, and maximum temperature limits.

- Use the pressure gauge within 50% of its indicated range and calibrate it regularly.

3. **Avoid Mixing Gases**: Do not use oxygen pressure gauges for other gases to prevent hazardous reactions.

4. **Inspect Safety Devices**: Regularly check safety valves and other protective devices to ensure compliance with regulations.

5. **Ensure Proper Thermometer Placement**: Insert the thermometer accurately into the reaction solution during operation.

6. **Maintain Cleanliness**:

- Keep the reactor interior and gaskets clean.

- Tighten the bolts on the disc flange cover diagonally and sequentially.

7. **Avoid Hazardous Areas**:

- Stand clear of areas where glass components may shatter.

- Replace damaged glass immediately to prevent accidents.

- **Overfilling the Reactor**: Filling the reactor beyond 80% of its volume caused an explosion, resulting in twisted bolts, a distorted cover, material ejection, and a fire.

- **Oxygen Introduction**: Introducing excessive oxygen into the autoclave for oxidation reactions led to a violent explosion, breaking bolts and ejecting the lid.
