### Precautions for Using a Thermal Oil Furnace with a Stainless Steel Reactor
#### **After Shutdown:**
1. **Shutdown Duration:**
- For shutdowns exceeding 8 hours, use the hand-fired grate.
- Thicker, wet coal should be used to suppress the flame after closing the fan and flue damper.
- Assign someone to monitor the furnace to prevent the flame from extinguishing.
2. **Managing Coal Layers:**
- For chain grates, thicken the coal layer (800–1200 mm below the grate) after shutting down the blower and induced draft fans.
- In winter, when the furnace cools rapidly, temporarily activate the blower and induced draft to reignite the coal before adding new coal.
3. **Circulation Pump:**
- Keep the circulation pump running during shutdown.
- Bypass the pump when the heating equipment is not in use.
- Shut down the pump if the outlet oil temperature drops below 100°C.
4. **Reactivation:**
- Before restarting, start the circulation pump to ensure the heat transfer fluid flows properly.
- Control the heating rate to avoid local overheating, especially if the oil temperature has dropped below 100°C.
#### **Temperature Control Device:**
- **Components:**
- A solenoid valve connected to the heat source pipe.
- A temperature sensor inside the reactor.
- Cooling water pipes with spray holes and a circular cooling pipe connected to tap water or backup water via a solenoid valve.
- A water receiving tube at the reactor's bottom, with a temperature sensor and water outlet pipe.
- **Advantages:**
- Automates temperature control, reducing manual labor.
- Simple, cost-effective, and easy to operate.
#### **Inspection of Stainless Steel Reactors:**
1. **Scope of Inspection:**
- Includes design review, operational quality, installation quality, repair quality, and operational safety checks.
2. **Types of Inspections:**
- **Design Document Review:** Ensures compliance with specifications.
- **Physical Inspections:** Conducted on-site or abroad for import/export vessels.
3. **Inspection Items:**
- Pressure vessel design and operational quality.
- Installation and repair quality.
- Safety checks for all components affecting operation.
By following these precautions, the thermal oil furnace and stainless steel reactor can operate safely and efficiently, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
