### 6 Steps to Install a Mechanical Seal for a Stainless Steel Reactor
1. **Inspect the Seal Quality**:
- Check the dynamic and static rings for scratches or damage on their end faces.
2. **Clean and Lubricate**:
- Wipe the O-ring and surfaces of the dynamic and static rings with a clean, soft cloth.
- Apply a small amount of lubricating oil suitable for the reactor's medium.
3. **Check Alignment**:
- Use a level and micrometer to ensure the static ring is level and the sealing section of the stirring shaft is vertical, adjusting as needed.
4. **Install and Adjust**:
- Fix the mechanical seal base and the fixed ring.
- Adjust the hexagonal set screw to evenly distribute spring tension and ensure proper contact between the dynamic and static rings.
5. **Connect Piping**:
- Attach the sealing liquid inlet and outlet pipes, nitrogen bottle, pressure reducer, and balance tank pipes.
- After passing the static pressure test, connect the water jacket and circulate cooling water.
6. **Cooling Preparation**:
- For medium temperatures below 80°C, add oil to the cooling tank for temperature regulation, ensuring the oil is clean, lubricating, and does not affect the material quality.
- For temperatures above 80°C, use circulating water for cooling the bottom jacket and tank.
These steps ensure proper installation and functionality of the mechanical seal for optimal reactor performance.
